HISTORY OF ZAMBIA

Here’s a brief overview of where the children we serves reside!

Zambia is located in South Central Africa. Zambia became independent on 24 October 1964. Zambia’s currency is Kwacha. Zambia’s capital city is Lusaka. Has approximately 72 local languages; one of the main local languages is Nyanja (Chewa). in addition, the official language is English. Zambia is a landlocked country; meaning, it has no seacoast.

What is the Education System in Zambia?

The Zambian education system has a 7-5-4 structure, namely 7 years at primary school, 2 and 3 years at junior and higher secondary school respectively, and 4 years at university for undergraduate degrees. While the intention is that school education should be mandatory for all, sadly many poorer children drop out along the way.

The education sector or education system is a group of institutions (ministries of education, local educational authorities, teacher training institutions, schools, universities, etc.) whose primary purpose is to provide education to children and young people in educational settings.
